To improve connectivity at peak times, improve bandwidth for mission critical web-applications we employ Quality of Service and Bandwidth optimisation. As a further benefit, we run advanced routing protocols to ensure high-connectivity between core routers as well as choosing the shortest path to the destination. The networks backbone runs on Fiber, while each server is given a single Gigabit network connection. We use high-performance managed switches throughout our network, usually Cisco 3750 or better.

Selectweb is based upon high-perfomance Linux and Windows servers, mostly running several Virtual Consoles which are all monitored, managed and secured from our Network Operations Centre. The advantage to running several virtual consoles is mainly security issues are mitigated before affecting our whole network and performance is more consistent.

RAMSAN is basically an extremely fast network attached storage device, based on solid state memory. Our MYSQL databases and selected web-hosting accounts are stored on our RAMSAN storage devices providing incredible performance for disk access. We are looking at expanding into iSCSI.
